Zakiya Mitchell is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She has over 15 years of corporate and public accounting experience in industries such as Real Estate, Insurance, Health Care, and Retail Banking. She earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Georgia State University in Finance and a Master’s in Accountancy from Mercer University. She went on to obtain her Certified Public Accounting License.
She has vast experience in audit, IRC 471, 280E, and cost accounting. She can resolve complex
accounting challenges and address risks within the business. She loves to help cannabis business owners improve their financials and forecast their results, so they can make informed decisions.
Zakiya became interested in cannabis while learning about the grey areas of federal and state law with 280E during her taxation studies in her Master’s program. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends and family.
